October is Global Diversity Awareness Month

October brings Global Diversity Awareness Month to remind us of the positive impact diverse businesses can have on a society. Ever wonder about the origin of Global Diversity Awareness Month?  We did too.  Here is what some quick research uncovered.

After World War II, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly at the Palais de Chaillot in Paris in 1948. The Declaration represented the first global expression of rights to which all human beings are inherently entitled. It has been translated into over 500 different languages. Every year in October, businesses, academic institutions, and communities pause and reflect on the progress and challenges we face together in understanding each other and embracing diversity across the globe.

At supplier.coupa.com, we are celebrating Global Diversity Awareness Month with a series of articles and events to help small businesses access and benefit from the multitude of tools and resources available at Coupa to help diverse businesses grow and thrive.

  • On October 13th, we are launching a new site: coupainclusion.com. Coupa is providing open access to our Diverse Business Directory to help buyers grow their business spend and quickly access the wealth of services available from diverse and inclusive suppliers.
  • We’ll be publishing diverse business success stories, the benefits of being a certified diverse business, hosting a special webinar, and much more.

Come back often because we will be publishing new content every week.  In the meantime, if you have a great story to share about how being a diverse business has helped you and your company grow, please write to [email protected].
